Tom-o-nyms features original historical fiction for upper elementary and middle level students written by award-winning author Tom Ratliff. A teacher by training, Tom is the co-author of the Matty Trescott novels and has written non-fiction books for the National Geographic Society, Scholastic Books, and Salariya Books in London, as well as narratives for graphic novels for Barron's Educational Series.

Tom's stories have been published in newspapers around the country, including the Hartford Courant, the Salina Journal, the Kalamazoo Gazette, the Youngstown Vindicator and the Day of New London. Each story is set against the backdrop of an event or historical era, and each provides a blend of historical fact, social history, and strong characters. Stories include teacher's guides, illustrations, and historical background and maps.
